IMPORTANT Safety Information

Wall decals are designed for decoration only. Please keep them out of reach of young children to avoid a possible choking or suffocation hazard.

We strongly recommend using common sense when considering the placement of decals in children’s bedrooms particularly for those aged 8 years and under.

Please do not place decals within a young child’s reach from their cot or in their bedroom where they will be unsupervised.

Decals should be installed by an adult.

Always supervise children under 8 years old when they are placing their Christmas Decal stickers on the calendar.

We cannot be held liable for damages in the event that our products have been installed incorrectly, or have been installed near sleep spaces.

It is important that they are examined regularly by an adult to ensure they remain securely attached to the wall.  In the event that adhesion is compromised, we recommend removing the product immediately.

 Violet Eyes Wall Decals

Our fabric decals use a unique new glue technology that leaves no sticky residue on 99% of surfaces! You can use them on virtually any smooth, flat surface! They can be applied, removed and reused many times over! If your walls have been freshly painted, please leave a minimum of 30 days drying time before placing decals on the wall.

We suggest you test a small area prior to full application. If you find any issue (wall damage or the decals won’t stick) please contact us prior to full application. These issues aren’t caused by the decals and we can give you advice on how to correct before use.

Before applying your decals, ensure that you have thoroughly cleaned the area you wish to apply them to! Take a clean damp cloth and wipe over the surface. Any dirt or dust on the surface will make it harder for the decals to work their magic!

To apply:Slowly & carefully peel your decals away from the backing sheet. When placing on the wall - place down one side of the decal and use a clean hand to rub along the decal so that it has full contact with the surface. Easy!

If you didn’t get it right the first time it’s not a problem! Our decals are moveable, removable and reusable! You can simply lift the decal away from the wall: slowly and carefully and repeat step 5!

If you find any bubbles beneath the decal after you have applied them they can simply be worked out by softly rubbing the bubble toward the edge. Your decals can also be layered on top of each other by following the same instructions at step 5 & 6!

If you need to take your decals down or move them, carefully lift one corner and peel slowly away from the wall. They can be stored on the same backing sheet they came on.  Not all walls are created equal & while we pride ourselves on bringing you the kindest decals on the market, if paintwork isn’t  adequately prepped or is in decline, you may get some damage to your surface with use. For more info on wall prepping see below.

They need to be kept clean! If your decals become dirty they will start to lose their stick. Please make sure you keep them clean at all times!

If your decals get scrunched up they can simply be pulled apart & used as normal.

For re-use: Simply store on the original backing sheet until next time - then loosely roll in some soft tissue paper and place back in their original tube for storage.

More information on application to painted walls

PhotoTex is not recommended for application over paints containing Teflon.  Teflon paints act as a repellent to the adhesive. Always check with the paint manufacturer before installing this product.

PhotoTex is not recommend for application on “wash and wear” or washable paints. “Wash and wear” or washable paints contain an additive that acts as a repellent to the adhesive. In Australia, these paints are commonly known as “wash and wear” paints.  Multiple Australian and international brands stock these stain resistant and washable products.  We advise our consumers to always check with the paint manufacturer before purchasing this product.  Are your walls painted with a washable paint? See below for an easy solution so you too can enjoy our products!   Note: Both we, and our customers have found that our decals will adhere to “wash and wear” or washable paints, however we make no guarantees. Always prime your wall first as instructed below to ensure adhesion.

PhotoTex is not recommended for application on textured walls/surfaces e.g. bricks, concrete, raw timber.

PhotoTex is not recommended on paint without a base layer of quality primer or paint that is flaking or in need of repair.

Do not apply PhotoTex to freshly painted walls. Allow approximately 4 weeks for the paint to completely cure.

We would suggest that you lightly sand and prime your wall with self adhesive prep coat prior to application if:

  • you are unsure if your paint contains Teflon OR if you are unsure if your paint is a “wash and wear” or washable paint*.
  • you are unsure about the quality of the wall preparation or existing paint work*.

*Renters should especially note these points, particularly given that they may not have prepared and painted the walls themselves.

We cannot be held responsible for any damage to walls, due to the variation in paint quality and wall preparation.

We cannot be held responsible for wall decals that do not adhere.
